About me
A qualified Social Worker with over 30 years’ experience of working with children and
families within a variety of roles, including Education, Social Care, Youth Offending, Mental
Health and Counselling. As an international safeguarding practitioner, she has worked in
the Middle East and SouthEast Asia since January 2013 and led on safeguarding
initiatives, provided training and safeguarding supervision to counsellors and safeguarding
leads in schools. She has contributed to government strategy and competencies as well as
working with NGOs.
Priya is an school accreditation evaluator for the Council of International Schools. She is
chairing the International Task Force Child Protection (ITFCP) data recording working
party and is currently delivering training of the Dama Al Aman student protection
procedures in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
‘I remain passionate about safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of the child remains at
the centre of everything educators do. Previous roles provided safeguarding training,
child protection consultation to other schools in the UAE. I created and chaired the Abu
Dhabi Child Protection Cluster Group, which works alongside ADEK and the MOI-CPC to
implement consistent policy and procedures within International Schools.’
