I have been teaching maths in Abu Dhabi for 6 years. During that time I have completed a MEd and I am currently studying an EdD with the University of Buckingham , UK (Doctorate of Education). I am also the creator of www.addvancemaths.com, a free revision website for IGCSE, A-level and IB Maths. I have posted over 200 animated videos explaining maths concepts, and developed hundreds of resources.
My current research focusses on the themes of conceptual understanding, cognitive science, EdTech and spatial reasoning abilities. I have a particular interest in cognitive load theory, and I believe that CLT has huge implications for how we think about teaching and learning. Educational research resonates with me when I see the connections between theory and practice; when light-bulb moments from students reflect the predictions from educational theory.
